There Is Nothing Like A Good Example
With the many social economy definitions being debated in the field, for most the social economy is more easily understood with examples. Once you read some of the examples listed below, what the social economy is will become a lot clearer.A Social Economy Showcase BC Stories
In March 2006, the BCSER released a publication called A Social Economy Showcase BC Stories. The stories collected in our book are the first published reflection of who we think we are. The process of identifying social economy actors and enterprises has raised as many questions as it has answered. And while it would be a mistake to assume that these stories are fully representative of the variety of social economy undertakings in BC, they do begin to tell the story of the social economy in this province.

Vancity Social Enterprise Videos For years, Vancity has been a pioneer in this province in merging financing tools and investment knowledge with community well-being. Their support of social enterprise has inspired many others to see the financial, social, and environmental benefits of investing in such enterprises.
On the Vancity website, they have posted videos of some of the social enterprises they have supported over the years. Click here to check them out.
