- The Nonprofit Quarterly has just released a groundbreaking US study that compares non-profit leaders with their corporate counterparts. Click here for the article and here for the press release.
- Need help filling out your charity’s T1030A CRA form? Six free workshops starting Jan 30 will take place in various BC locations to help BC charity staff and volunteers through the process. The workshops are hosted by VOCBC, the Centre for Sustainability and local host organizations. Click here (a PDF) for more information.
- The BC Rural Summit 2008 is taking place on March 13 to 15, 2008 in 100 Mile House.
- The 2008 WorkLife BC Form is happening February 1, 2008 in Vancouver. The registration may be full, but there is a lot of great information on their website.

Also, we wanted to direct your attention to the Proceedings Report (links to a PDF) of a May 30th round table discussion that took place between the provincial government and leaders in the community social services sector. This initiative aims to examine and improve the relationship between the Province and the sector. This dialogue process has only just begun and will focus on:
- Building solid relationships and trust;
- Building accountability and public value; and
- Building capacity.

January 5, 2007 - Provincial Cuts to Child Care Announced
The Minister of State for Child Care, the Honourable Linda Reid, announced major funding changes and cuts by the BC Ministry of Children and Family Development for child care programs in the province. These cuts have substantial impact on child care services across BC. Click here to find out more.
